none

Learning Goals

Students acquire the ability to independently study and critically evaluate scientific literature in the field of networked systems. They learn to identify key concepts, research challenges, and current developments, and to communicate technical content effectively through oral presentations and academic discussions. Furthermore, students strengthen their skills in scientific writing, literature research, and the structured analysis of research papers.

Contents

The seminar covers selected topics from the field of networked systems based on current scientific literature. Possible topics include networking protocols, networking standards, embedded and cyber-physical systems, real-time communication networks, safety-critical applications, verification and validation techniques, and emerging trends in networking. Students investigate a specific topic, based on one research publication to be selected by the participant.

Teaching Methods

The seminar is organized around independent literature study and student presentations. Each participant conducts a guided review of scientific publications, prepares a seminar paper and presentation, and presents their findings to the group. Presentations are followed by discussions that encourage critical reflection and exchange of ideas. Individual supervision and feedback support students throughout the seminar.
